Where listings come from
Businesses are collected from public Google Maps listings for flooring, carpet, tiling, resin, concrete and floor-sanding searches across Wales. Contact details such as phone, website and rating come from the Maps listing. Where a business has a website, the site is also read for services, accreditations, years of experience and audience (domestic, commercial or industrial). An email address is shown only when its domain matches the business's own website.
How a business is placed in an area
Each business is placed by its own map coordinates inside the boundary of one of the 22 Welsh local authorities (Office for National Statistics boundaries). The search that found it, or the postcode prefix, is not used. 326 businesses are currently listed.
How services are matched
A business is listed under a service only when its own name, category, description or website text mentions that kind of work. Showing up in a search for a service does not count. There are 10 service groups.
Who is left out
Shops whose category is a store or supplier are left out unless their own text says they fit or install flooring. Businesses whose own text mentions no flooring service are also left out, because a Maps category alone is not evidence of the work.
When a page is published
An area and service page (for example carpet fitters in Cardiff) exists only when at least 4 businesses match, which gives 26 such pages. Resin, commercial and sports flooring are shown as Wales-wide and regional lists, because that work is quoted by region.
Ordering and ratings
Lists are ordered by number of Google reviews, then by rating. This is a data rule, not a ranking of quality. No business pays for placement. Ratings are shown as they appear on Google Maps and are not re-scored.
What is not checked
We do not verify prices, insurance, trade accreditations or workmanship, and listings can go out of date. Always ask for a written quote. To correct or remove a listing, use the claim or remove page.
